Psalm 100

Make A Joyful Noise

A Psalm (song) set to music!?!? What an idea!

Please give this song a listen and come back for more thoughts.

Sing it!

Of course Psalms were sung in Bible times. We don’t have recordings of them, but I’m told some wonderful discoveries have been made and people think they have a very good idea of the melodies for the Psalms.

I’m confident the melody attached to this version of Psalm 100 is NOT the “original”.

But is the melody “wrong”? Not at all. It serves us just fine as we make a joyful noise unto the Lord! 🙂

Five relaxing, invigorating activities

This Psalm says, “Come before His presence with singing”. Have you noticed music can relax and invigorate us? God doesn’t want us to miss that blessing!

Here’s a short list of five relaxing, invigorating things we can employ to brighten our days and lift our moods any time we need to:

  1. Music
  2. Nature
  3. Exercise
  4. Laughter
  5. Read the Bible

Go ahead, make a joyful noise to the Lord! Come before His presence with singing! It can make any day, any situation better.

Enjoy time outdoors in nature.

Do some brisk physical activity.

Find something that will make you laugh.

Flip open a Bible and read Ephesians in one sitting.

Do one, some, or all. Drink it in and become invigorated and relaxed!

And … be thankful, too!

God bless you lots!

PSALM 100

1 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.

2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

3 Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
